Lane Cove Cottage
is tucked in a sheltered arm of Pekapeka Bay in Whangaroa Harbour, a place of spectacular cliffs and rock formations with some fine regenerating coastal forest. Access is by boat from Totara North or Whangaroa township.

Motukawanui Island Track
Length: 3 km Time: 1.5 hrs
This track traverses Motukawanui, the largest island of the Cavalli group, from either Papatara or Wai-iti Bays to the island's northern tip. At times it follows the ridgetops, providing excellent views of Mahinepua Peninsula, Matauri Bay and other forested islands of the Cavalli group. |

St Paul's Rock
Length: 500 metres Time: 30 minutes
Starting from the carpark at the end of Hospital Road, the track traverses St Paul's Rock above Whangaroa township and provides spectacular views of the harbour. |

Duke's Nose (Kairara Rocks)
Length: 500 metres Time: 45 minutes (one way)
This route departs from behind Lane Cove Cottage. This is a very steep climb up rocky outcrops which provide spectacular views over Whangaroa Harbour |

Mahinepua Peninsula Track
Length: 2 km Time: approx 2 hrs return
The track leaves from the eastern end of Mahinepua Beach (end of Mahinepua Road, off Wainui Road on the coast north of Matauri Bay). Follow markers up the farm track to the Reserve. Please keep to the track, cliffs exist in this area. Return via the same track. Please respect private property. The track travels the lenth of the peninsula, mainly along the ridgetop, giving access to the many sheltered bays and providing outstanding coastal views.
