Sandra-Jane Kupiec?s work is derived from a myriad of international influences, which continue to embrace her love of the simple beauty of life. She first realised this passion in the visual arts through the paintings of Paul Gauguin, which she initially viewed in 1986 while living in Tahiti on a high school student exchange. She believed that through his work he expressed this same vital simplicity, transposing it with vivid determination onto what she perceived to be a living canvas. His combination of colours seemed to be speaking to her in an imaginary tongue, mesmerising and setting a seed which would only ripen about 5 years later. It was also during this time that she was introduced to the works of Frederic Hundertwasser, whose linear and almost surreal adaptations of such simple yet controversial ecological issues intrigued her immensely. more>>>
